Eggy Excess

Egg production in Canada totalled 436.1 million dozen during the first nine months of 2005.

That’s about 14.5 dozen eggs per Canadian. And the year’s not over yet!

On pondering this, Coffee and I determined that we probably DO meet up with that average. Most of them are consumed by the dogs as part of their breakfast, but.. well, yeah. How disturbing.

I bet that a bunch of them don’t end up eaten by anyone — aren’t eggs used in the production of some vaccines? — but still — that’s a LOT of eggs!

Oh! And baking (bread, cakes, etc) commercially, too. But, yeah, that’s a LOT of eggs.
