Last I heard…

Borrowed from Melle: run your name and the phrase “last I heard she/he was” through Google:

The last i heard she was an Army MP somewhere in Germany
Last i heard she was getting her wisdom teeth pulled
Last I heard, she was graduating from a Utah high school in 1985.
last i heard she was/is dating Ty who played guitar in 19 of Salem
Last I heard she was doing interior design
Last I heard she was a AZ1 but that could be wrong
Last I heard she was getting married to someone in the Armed Forces
Last I heard, she was able to walk on a walker but not down a hallway on her own.
Last i heard she was teaching … There’s a little more to that story but it’s too stupid to post.
Last I heard she was suing for voter fraud
The last I heard she was living with some other toothless drug addict
Last i heard she was at BYU and total mormon
last I heard, she was dusting off those red shoes, mumbling to herself something like “I’m going to get my babies out of jail…”

Seems I get around!

Meme: In how many metros around the world have you been?

Got at b3co.com!

If only

Maddy and I were going to do some baking on the weekend, so I pulled a package of chocolate chips out of the cupboard.

M: “What are those?”
Me: “You see if you can figure it out.”
M: “Cookies!”
Me: “Nope, good guess though. Feel what’s inside. What does it feel like?”
M: “Cookie seeds!”

It’s official

At this point, I have to give in and admit that it’s possible that I am a yuppie. I was up at 6:55a.m. on Saturday to register my four-year-old for ballet class and private swimming lessons.

Sigh.

At least the wine is good in yuppieland.

Enough pictures, Mom!

A portrait of Maddy on her first day of school. A very serious and studious Senior Kindergartner we have here.

Slow day for the government

The new(ish) federal government is certainly keeping my media scan calm and uninteresting with its endless list of ribbon-cutting announcements:

Canada Revenue Agency: The Honourable Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament for South Shore-St. Margaret’s, Announces the Signing of a Contribution Agreement With a Nova Scotia Charity

Yawn. But sometimes some levity makes its way past the censors:

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, and Minister of the Canadian Wheat Board, Pops the Cork on Funding for the Canadian Vintners Association

And for sheer irresistable clickability natural resources always wins —

Natural Resources Canada: Current Active Fires

This is a picture I did not take

…of a fortyish man at the bus stop this morning. Nice shoes, nice suit, shirt and tie, groomed hair, and a large Star Trek communicator pin on his left lapel.
